XAT 2017


Xavier Aptitute Test is conducted by Xavier Labour Research Institute, Jamshedpur (XLRI) on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institute (XAMI). XAT is considered as one of the most popular entrance tests after CAT to get admission in the management courses of various reputed institutes.

XAT scores are considered by more then 100 (106 in 2014) reputed Management Institutes in India to provide admission in various management courses running in them. It is a Standardized test that measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills of the young aspirants to help the graduate schools of business assess the potential of applicants for advanced study in business and management institutes.

XAT Exam Eligibility


Aspirants must have passed bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or mustcomplete degree by 10th June, 2017.

Eligibility criteria for taking admission to various management courses are:

1. Two years Post Graduate Program in Business Management and in Personal Management & Industrial Relationship.

Educational Qualification:


Three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a University or Deemed University.

Note : Those completing their final examination by June may also apply.

2. One year General Management Program.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized university in India or abroad in any discipline.

Work experience:

Aspirant for XLRI Jamshedpur School of Management XAT Exam, should be employed in a full- time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March after completion of graduation.

3. Four year Fellow Program in Management.

Educational Qualification :

Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline or CA / ICWA / CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) or B.E. / B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).

XAT Exam Syllabus


XAT exam consists of 3 sections from the following given subjects.

  • Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability.
  • Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Data Interpretation.
  • General Awareness Questions.

Along with an essay with time limit of 20 minutes after the objective type test.

XAT Exam Pattern


XAT Exam usually consists of 100 objective type multiple choice questions. Paper pencil based test of 2 hours and 20 minutes consists of questions from Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, English Language Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making and Essay Writing.

Format for XAT

It will be of 3 hours divided into 2 parts:

Part Subject Timming
Part A Quantitative Ability, English Language Ability & Logical Reasoning and Decision Making 2:20 Hrs.
Part B Essay writing and General Awareness 40 Mins

General Awareness questions will be based on Business, Economics and Politics related to the Business Environment.Candidates have to attempt the essay as well as the General Awareness questions.

How to apply for XAT Exam?


Aspiring candidates looking to apply for XAT exams have to visit xatonline.net.in and click "XAT Registration". Fill preliminary information, enter a password of your choice and submit it. After submission of these details applicant receives XAT ID by email. (Next time you will be allowed to login with your XAT ID and password).

Complete Form:

Login to XAT account and fill educational and other details and choose the test city.

Fee Payment:

The fee for XAT is Rs. 1000.00 (Rupees One Thousand only) for all applicants.

There are three possible modes of payment


Mode 1

Online Payment Gateway: Through VISA/Master Credit/Debit Cards (American Express Card is inadmissible)

IDBI Net banking (this option is available only for IDBI account holder)

Mode 2

Cash Payment

Applicant has to take a print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip visit nearest IDBI bank and make the payment.

Mode 3

Demand Draft

Applicant has to get a DD made in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur.

Important:

Applicant paying through Mode 2 & 3 should update the payment details in the registration page. Failure to do so, such candidates will not be allowed to upload their photo and signature.

Upload Photograph and Signature: Applicant is required to upload his/her scanned digital photograph and signature (click here for the process of uploading the photograph and signature).

Print XAT Confirmation page: Print confirmation page for your reference. In future for all correspondence with XAT office quote your XAT ID.

Send Confirmation page: Payments made through Demand Draft need to send their DD along with the confirmation page to XAT office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur- 831001 within fifteen days from the issuance of DD.

Applicants who have made the payments through Cash, IDBI internet banking or credit/debit cards are not required to send the Confirmation page to XAT Office.

Downloading of XAT Bulletin: Applicant may download XAT e Bulletin 2017 from www.xlri.ac.in

Download Admit Card: Your admit card will be uploaded on December 18, 2016 you may download it from xatonline.net.in till December 31, 2016.
